January 24th Breastfeeding Class
| January 24, 2011 | ||

The Journal of Human lactation did a study to evaluate the effectiveness of breastfeeding education on prenatal mothers. They randomly assigned 50% of their subjects to receive a basic breastfeeding class, and 50% to continue with standard prenatal care. The results: women in the breastfeeding class group ended up breastfeeding their babies longer – a full six and a half weeks over their counterparts. Not only is each ounce of breastmilk you give your baby the best nutrition you can offer, it’s much cheaper!
Cost of formula per week: $33.33 (kellymom.com)
How many weeks extra moms breastfeed after they take a breastfeeding class: 6.52 (Journal of Human Lactation)
What it will cost you if you don’t take the Get Babied Breastfeeding class: $219
Cost of Get Babied Breastfeeding Class: $30.
