Blissful Birth
- Provide continuous emotional, physical and informational support throughout active labor and birth
- Offer early labor phone contact to evaluate your needs and decide when you want your doula to join you
- Act as an advocate for you and your birth plan by encouraging communication with your caregiver
- Use comfort/relaxation techniques throughout labor
- Use aromatherapy for a serene birth environment
- Suggest positions that will make you more comfortable
- Use hydrotherapy and compresses (hot & cold)
- Help explain the risks and benefits of medical procedures and interventions
- Run errands including getting ice, snacks, etc. so your birth partner(s) can stay with you
- Leave the room if couple needs time alone
- Stay for postpartum support in the immediate hours after birth
- Take pictures of you & your new family immediately after birth
- Help move your things from labor & delivery to the postpartum room
- Provide breastfeeding support & referrals
