Blissful Birth

  • Provide continuous emotional, physical and informational support during surgery prep and during surgery (if hospital policy allows)
  • Act as an advocate for you and your birth plan by encouraging communication with your caregiver
  • Use comfort/relaxation techniques throughout surgery (aromatherapy, breathing, verbal support)
  • Help explain the risks and benefits of medical procedures and interventions
  • Stay for postpartum support in recovery for the immediate 1-2 hours after birth
  • Take pictures of you & your new family immediately after birth
  • Stay with mother while father goes to nursery with baby
  • Provide initial latch breastfeeding support & referrals

Babied! and More

  • 24/7 on call phone and email support to discuss breastfeeding, postpartum recovery and newborn care
  • Offer monthly seminars on childbirth and parenting, available to you after baby arrives
  • Suggest further resources that might be useful to you
  • Provide unlimited access to the Get Babied! lending library
  • One postpartum appointment within 2 weeks of giving birth which can include any and all of the items below:
  • Breastfeeding session to address success and barriers
  • Postpartum birth processing and discussion
  • Mother self care assessment
  • Optional tutorials on breast pumps, baby wearing, cloth diapering, infant massage, sleeping training and other topics as requested by you
