Stephanie Scott LMT, CD(DONA, TOLABOR) has masters degrees in English and Library and Information Science. She is a certified doula, a massage therapist specializing in pregnancy and labor, and a mom. LMT# MT103661

Ame Shillington CD(DONA) has BS in Biochemistry and has applied for the 2013 freshman class at UTSA Medical School. She bridges the fields of labor support and obstetrics with current medical journal knowledge and natural birth practices. Ame has two children, one born naturally and one born with an epidural and can speak frankly about the pros and cons of medical interventions in your birth plan.

Dawn Batson CD(DONA) HCHD was first introduced to birth by her sister-in-law, a midwife. She believes that by supporting women during their pregnancies, birth, and in early motherhood, she is doing her part in improving the world. She is certified by Hypnobabies and DONA, and also a DONA-trained postpartum doula, and has attended a week-long workshop on assisting midwives taught by Ina May Gaskin at The Farm in Tennessee. She plans to begin her midwifery path in 2012

Apprentice Doulas
Amy Nevland (Certified Teacher) has a BS in Applied Learning and Development through UT at Austin. She taught Literature and Writing for nearly five years at a Private School in Austin until the birth of her two children. After this experience she completed training with DONA. She is currently an apprentice doula with Get Babied! and offers her services at a reduced rate. Amy believes deeply that a woman’s body was wonderfully created for the unique work of labor and delivery.

Janet Jones (IBCLC) is a certified Lactation consultant, and practices professionally in this role at Mom’s Place South for WIC. She is a DONA trained birth doula who loves the entire birth process and strives to empower women to have confidence in their ability to give birth and breastfeed. She is the mother of two lovely children.

Margaret Burns first became interested in birth while taking a Women’s Health Class for her degree in Women’s Studies. After her first child was born, she fell in love with all things birth & babies. When she had her own breastfeeding challenges, she was determined to share what she had learned and began assisting friends in breastfeeding after their babies were born. She quickly fell into postpartum work this way in 2006. Margaret is a DONA-trained birth doula & has a Masters Degree in English from UT.
