Postpartum Potluck – Sunday January 23rd 5-7pm
Our third Postpartum Potluck is coming up on Sunday, January 23rd (I got ahead of myself & listed it for the 16th at the last potluck, so change the date!). Thanks to all of you who shared food, drink & camaraderie last time. It was wonderful to meet a room full of great Moms, new babes & all the food our little ones would let us eat.
“The Full Moon is the time to invoke the Mother Goddess at the height of her glory” (Book of Shadows, The Magic of the Goddess)
Celebrate your motherhood at a monthly pot-luck at the Get Babied Doula Collective, 3823A Airport Blvd. Once a month, the Sunday evening closest to the Full Moon, meet for food, fun and friendship at 5pm. We invite mothers of infants that are not yet walking to join together in an informal gathering to share wisdom and knowledge, to discover and nurture friendships, and frankly, to just get out of the house once a month for a well- deserved break from the daily grind. Come out and show off your baby, or treat it as a mom’s night out- whatever works! Bring a dish, dessert, or beverage to share. Laurel Darlington, new mom to Ian (born September 2010); as well as a career RN in labor, delivery and maternity services will facilitate discussion (and is also an excellent cook). We look forward to getting you out of the house, and supporting you in your role of new mom. Full moon potlucks are open to all postpartum mothers, clients of Get Babied and any other mothers who would like to participate. As doulas we don’t want our support for you to end with the delivery of your baby – it lasts all the way through motherhood, and we hope the new mama potluck will be an opportunity for us to continue to support you in your first year of motherhood.
Mark your calendars for the following full moons:
December 19
January 23
February 20
March 20
April 17You can register online (so we have enough chairs and food) here:http://www.getbabied.com/classes/online-registration – but it’s also OK to just show up if you can make it (we know scheduling is tricky with a baby in arms, so just come if you are able).
